We seek applications from outstanding post-graduate candidates with an interest in inorganic materials. Thirteen fully-funded four-year studentships are available each year, for applicants with related science degrees and/or relevant experience. Further details of the application procedure can be found below.

Applications are particularly welcome and encouraged from women, black and other minority group candidates, who are under-represented in STEM. The University and colleges are doing more than ever to increase the number of promising postgraduate students from under-represented groups at Oxford. You can learn all about these initiatives here.

The IMAT CDT has partnered with the UNIQ+ graduate access programme, and with the Academic Futures scholarship programme – to offer a fully-funded studentship per intake to a student of UK Black and Mixed Black ethnicity, a student refugee or with lived experience of displacement, or a student who has experienced being in care in the UK.
